Local account executive, Joe McLure, put in an honest day's work on December 23; a fact confirmed by several bewildered co-workers.  "I worked hard all day and didn't leave until 5:00, despite the fact that not a single client was available for a sales call", said McLure.  "Sure I would have liked to just run out the clock until Christmas break and divide my day between wandering in and out of the conference room sampling cookies and tracking my Christmas shipments on-line like any normal person, but that's just not how I do things."  It is doubtful that McLure will receive any recognition for this astonishing feat, since no management-level employees bothered to come in to work that day and it will be nearly impossible for McLure to find an excuse to call attention to his superhuman display of self-discipline by the time everyone returns after the new year.
