In what many recounted as the shortest press conference in Notre Dame Football history, Coach Brian Kelly, in a thinly veiled attempt to keep as much attention as possible on himself at the expense of student/athletes at both the University of Cincinnati and Notre Dame, announced that he will be assisting the current Notre Dame coaching staff but primarily in an advisory role during their upcoming bowl game.  After a confusing few seconds of whispering while the athletic director cupped his hand over the microphone, it became apparent that Kelly was only just then learning that the Fighting Irish were not actually playing in a bowl game when he exclaimed, "What?!  I was in the f***ing Sugar Bowl.  Why am I here - what was the damn hurry??  I mean, 6 and 6!?  I was undefeated!  Hell, I was slated for a National Championship Game for a few minutes until some official put 1 second back on the clock for Texas!!"  As Coach Kelly regained his composure, coverage of his press conference was cut short for yet another surprise press conference with Florida Coach Urban Meyer.
