Citing the unpleasantness surrounding allegations of corruption that came to light during the recent national elections, fur hat manufacturer Khalim Moulani and Sons, have canceled their long running endorsement deal with Afghan President Hamid Karzai who will no longer be required to wear the oddly fashioned hats whenever appearing in public. According to company spokesman, "When we first inked this deal with Karzai, we had high hopes of grabbing major market share in Afghanistan's burgeoning post-war economy. But here we are are over eight years later; the war is still dragging on, the Afghan economy is virtually non-existent, fur is hard to come by, and frankly the hat just never really caught on." Ironically, it was this very endorsement deal that initially fueled the corruption allegations that eventually lead to its cancellation.
